Graffiti Paintings

Egret Egress

The train where I photographed this graffiti was stopped on tracks that ran along a woodland swamp. The earth-tones in the spray-painted letters and the blue watery look of the background perfectly matched the sepia and umber tones of the swamp vegetation and the flawless blue of the autumn sky reflected on the still water. On rare occasions I have had the luck to see Great White Herons wading alongside their more-ubiquitous Great Blue Heron cousins, and I decided to give myself the pleasure of painting them flying along this train down the tunnel through the woods made by the tracks.
